Tissy’s first Pub ride

There is nothing like a little spin out to somewhere new for an adventure with your favourite pony!

Upper Boothay Farm ride, is a lovely mainly off road (one quiet village lane) sign posted ride (I measured it at about 10km). You can book time slots to head out on your own or have up to 6 in a group. There are some lovely inviting cross-country jumps and hedges of various sizes, and word is they’re working on a water feature too.

The rosette at the end is the nicest one I’ve ever had and the owners are so lovely, you can even get a bite to eat at the end. You can go around as many times as you want, plus there is the option of going rouge and checking out the local bridleways using the Farm ride as your base.

Tissy was somewhat spicy…..the first time she’s reared with me in about 20 years! She bucked furiously if she wasn’t in the lead for the canters at first but with much persuasion, she eventually settled and tootled along behind without resembling a rodeo.

But the best bit! We had our first ever Pub stop, I’ve never enjoyed a diet coke and salt & vinegar crisps more!

  1. This is a really lovely video, thank you. I moved to Spain 3 years ago and my daughter (13) has got the bug for horse riding at a local yard, we went on a 2 hour ride on Thursday in Asturias and I had forgotten how much I love this sport. I used to train as BHS Ai many years ago and now I am looking to do some endurance riding.
    Thank you again.
