Honestly I feel like I’ve cheated and I’m not sure I like it. We went to New Zealand for the entirety of December and into January while my horses were looked after by my parents in Wales, shortly after I was working away in Tenerife while my horses went to Legacy equine so Estrid could start her 2026 training on the water treadmill while I’m away. So I feel like I’ve missed the darkest coldest part of winter, the nights are already getting lighter, ride entries are opening and we’re already in the 2026 planning phase. Which is all very nice but it does make me feel a little discombobulated.
Anyway, the horses are back from their 9 week holiday and we have stables to prep and routines to get back into.
